Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or diving into a new medium, you’ll find a welcoming environment, small class sizes, and plenty of encouragement.
All supplies are included unless otherwise noted.
Cancellation Policy: Class & workshop fees are non-refundable. If you need to cancel, please contact That Art Place at least 48 hours in advance. When possible, we may offer studio credit or transfer your registration to another class.
Upcoming Classes
Capture the glow of an autumn woodland in watercolor!
In this beginner-friendly class, we'll paint a colorful stand of birch trees surrounded by warm fall foliage. You'll learn how to build a soft watercolor background, create the distinctive light-and-dark markings of birch bark, add branches and autumn leaves, and use layers of color to give your painting depth.
Along the way, we'll practice several fundamental watercolor techniques, including wet-on-wet color blending, layering, brush control, and adding texture and detail.
This class is designed for beginners, so no previous watercolor experience is necessary. We'll work through the painting together step by step, and you'll still have plenty of room to make yours your own.
All supplies are included, and you'll leave with your finished autumn birch watercolor ready to take home.
Recommended for ages 12+. Space is limited, so advance registration is required.
There’s an art to creating a beautiful charcuterie spread, and it’s easier than you might think!
Join us for an adults-only evening at That Art Place and learn how to select, arrange and style meats, cheeses, fruits, nuts, spreads and accompaniments into a charcuterie presentation that looks as good as it tastes.
We’ll talk about how to choose ingredients that work well together, balance flavors and textures, determine how much food you need, and use simple arranging techniques to create that abundant, beautifully styled look. Then you’ll put those tips into practice as you create your own charcuterie offering to enjoy or take home.
We’ll give our ingredients a little seasonal flair for October, but the skills you learn can be used year-round for holidays, parties, girls’ nights, family gatherings or an especially fancy Tuesday.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll transform a candle vessel with a one-of-a-kind mosaic design, then finish it with dramatic black grout that makes every piece pop. Choose your own colors and arrangement to create something bold, elegant, funky, spooky, or completely your own.
No mosaic experience is needed. We’ll walk you through the process from designing and placing your pieces to grouting and finishing your candle.

No sewing machine. No needle and thread. Just fabric, texture and a little Halloween magic.
Join us for a new edition of Kinusaiga, the Japanese-inspired art of creating beautifully textured designs with fabric. Instead of sewing the pieces together, fabric is carefully tucked into the design to create a finished piece that looks almost quilted.
For this workshop, we’re giving Kinusaiga a Halloween twist!
Choose from several beginner-friendly designs.
We’ll provide a selection of fabrics so you can choose your own colors and patterns and make your piece completely your own.
We’ll guide you through the Kinusaiga process step by step, from selecting and placing your fabrics to tucking and finishing each section of your design.
No sewing and no previous Kinusaiga experience required.
Your registration includes your choice of design, fabric and all materials needed to complete one Kinusaiga piece.
Space is limited. Choose your favorite design when you arrive and come spend an evening creating a little fabric art for spooky season.

Get ready for a little Halloween fun at Bingo & Brushes! Your $25 registration includes five rounds of bingo plus your choice of a painting project or select ceramics. Choose from three Halloween-inspired paintings: a moody Pumpkin Floral, a friendly Frankenstein or whimsical Witch Boots & Cauldron. We’ll have everything ready for you, so just pick your favorite, grab a brush and play along while you paint.
And because it’s Halloween, costumes are encouraged! Come dressed up for a chance to win a special costume prize, plus we’ll have prizes up for grabs throughout the evening. No painting experience required, costumes are completely optional and all supplies are included. Grab a friend and come play, paint and maybe go home a winner!

Join us at That Art Place for Bingo & Brushes, a relaxed creative night where we'll paint, play bingo, win prizes, and have a whole lot of fun along the way!
Your $25 ticket includes bingo, painting supplies, and your choice of a creative project. Choose from a pre-drawn seasonal canvas, a blank canvas to create something completely your own, or one of our specially selected ceramic pieces.
We'll alternate between painting and rounds of bingo throughout the evening, with prizes up for grabs along the way. No art experience is necessary, and you don't have to be a bingo expert either. Just come ready to create, play, and maybe yell BINGO!
All supplies are provided. This one's for the grown-ups, so 18+, please.

Crochet 101: 3-Week Beginner Series -

Always wanted to learn to crochet but have no idea where to start? Crochet 101 is a three-week series designed for absolute beginners. We’ll start with the basics, including how to hold your hook and yarn and essential crochet stitches, then build your skills with yarn basics, pattern reading, and granny squares. By Week 3, you’ll put everything together to create your very own Emotional Support Chicken.
Your registration includes a Beginner Crochet Kit with your own H/5.0 mm hook, yarn and supplies for all three projects, class handouts, and a tote to carry everything from week to week. Take your kit home to practice between classes, then bring it back the following week as we build on what you’ve learned. Everything in your kit is yours to keep. Recommended for ages 12+.
Chunky Hand-Knit Blanket Workshop -

Get ready to make something seriously cozy! Join us at That Art Place for a special extended workshop and create your own chunky hand-knit blanket from beginning to end using just your hands and super-soft chunky yarn. No knitting needles, crochet hooks or previous experience required. We’ll guide you step by step through creating your first row, building your stitches, joining new yarn, keeping your edges even and finishing your blanket.
Your registration includes all the chunky yarn and supplies you’ll need, step-by-step instruction and 3+ hours of hands-on workshop time. Everyone works at a different pace, so plan for at least three hours to complete your blanket. You’ll leave with a cozy handmade blanket you can actually curl up under!

Mosaic House Numbers: Create Your Own Address Plaque - October 29 | 6 PM

Create a one-of-a-kind mosaic address plaque that adds a little art to your curb appeal!
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll design your own vertical house number plaque using dimensional wood numbers surrounded by colorful mosaic pieces. Choose your colors, arrange your design, and create a custom piece made specifically for your home.
Your plaque will be sized according to your address and can include 2–5 numbers, with finished pieces measuring up to approximately 5” × 18” (depending on the quantity of numbers needed).
All materials and instruction are included. No mosaic experience is needed.
