Creative Classes for Curious Kids Who Love Art
Our kids’ classes give young artists a fun, supportive place to explore new materials, learn creative skills, and make something they’re proud of. Each class includes step-by-step guidance, all supplies, and plenty of encouragement along the way.
Whether your child is trying something new or already loves making art, our goal is to make the experience relaxed, encouraging, and fun. Class sizes are kept manageable so each student has support while still having the freedom to make creative choices.
Cancellation Policy: Class fees are non-refundable. If you need to cancel, please contact That Art Place at least 48 hours in advance. When possible, we may offer studio credit or transfer your registration to another class.
Upcoming Kids’ Classes
Get ready to squish, shape, and create! In this fun two-part class, young artists will design and sculpt their own unique clay masterpiece using air-dry clay. We'll cover simple sculpting techniques while encouraging creativity and imagination.
This is a two-part class:
Part 1: Sculpt your project during our 1-hour Thursday evening class (August 5).
Part 2: After your sculpture has had time to dry, return anytime on Saturday, August 8, between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM to paint and personalize your creation.
A parent or guardian must remain at the studio during the class. Recommended for ages 6 and up. Younger siblings are welcome to accompany their parent but will not be able to participate in the class.
Get ready to experiment, layer, press, pull, and discover! In this hands-on art lab, young artists will use Gelli plates, acrylic paint, and a variety of textural materials like lace, leaves, plants, and art tools to create one-of-a-kind prints.
Students will explore color, pattern, layering, and texture while experimenting with different ways to make each print unique. No experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided.
This class is for ages 10 and up. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
